Dave Agnew Takes Over the Reins at Western Michigan

PLAYED ON FIRST WESTERN MICHIGAN TEAM IN 1995-96
Dave grew up in Anchorage, Alaska where he played youth and high school hockey. After graduating high school, he moved to Kalamazoo, MI to play two years for the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings of the NAHL almost winning the US Junior National Tournament by finishing second in 1993.
After juniors, Dave played two years for the Western Michigan University Broncos. He
then joined the WMU Stallions in their inaugural season of 1995-96
where he captained the team to an ACHA Division II national
championship. He served as player/assistant
coach the following season and helped the team to a fifth place finish
in the 1996-97 ACHA Division I national championship. He also played for the Kalamazoo K-Wings of the UHL for the 2001-02 season.
Dave
has been coaching in the Kalamazoo area for 14 years including AA, AAA
and High School levels most recently spending 4 years as coach of the
Mattawan Wildcats of the West Michigan High School Hockey League.
